ABOUT
Jill Stanton is an artist based in Edmonton, with a special interest in public art and mural painting.
She graduated with a BFA in 2009 from the University of Alberta. With over a decade of experience, she has completed more than 70 murals of varying scale and complexity for private, public, and municipal clients across North America. Her work is rooted in site-responsive, narrative-driven approaches that reflect the character of the communities and built environments in which they exist.
Her murals have been featured in numerous festivals and public art initiatives, including the Vancouver Mural Festival, Wall to Wall (Winnipeg, MB), HABIT (Tulsa, USA), Wild West Mural Fest (Dallas, USA), The Concrete Canvas Project (Victoria, BC), Multiplicity at Underpass Park (Toronto, ON), and BUMP (Calgary, AB). Her client list includes the City of Edmonton, the City of Lethbridge, the City of Victoria, Shopify, Stantec, Alberta Treasury Branch (ATB), and Hershey’s.
Influenced by comics and graphic novels, Jill’s work draws on visual storytelling and graphic forms to create accessible, engaging imagery. In the studio, she works with gouache, oils, and acrylics across a variety of media, and is exploring three-dimensional forms and tactile elements within her practice.
